Reports to: Central Administration/HR Manager

Under the direct supervision of the Central Administration manager, this position provides administrative support for the general administration and HR departments.  In addition to regular administrative assistant duties such as record keeping, coordination of meetings, supply management, etc., this position provides administrative assistance with day-to-day HR procedures.

Essential Functions:
–Answers phones for the HR department.
–Assists with the ongoing management and maintenance of the office.
–Coordinates maintenance and cleaning staff as required.
–Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system(s) for department. Retrieves information from files when needed.
–Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies.
–Answers phones for the HR department.
–Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
–Handles employment application intake.
–Assists with the recruitment and interview process.
–Assists with new-employee orientations.
–Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions.
–Assists with benefits administration.
–Create new employee personnel files and file papers and documents into appropriate employee/HR files.
–Complete I-9 for new hires and maintains I-9 records.
–Submit the online applicant investigation requests and assist with new employee background checks.
–Update HRIS database records and process paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes.
–Assists the Administration Manager with various special projects.
–Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Periodic local travel to various work sites is required.

Required Education and Experience:
–High school diploma.
–At least two (2) years of experience as an administrative assistant or in another related clerical role.

Preferred Education and Experience:
–Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
–Prior HR experience.
